So what is link building?

Link building is getting other websites to link back to your site. The process can be complicated, long, and difficult but it is one of the top Google ranking factors and therefore your search engine ranking depends on it to a large extent. Your ‘domain authority’ which is basically how trustworthy your site is helps your search engine ranking. It depends on how many people have referred back to your site, and whether these are trustworthy sites themselves (so if they, too, have a lot of backlinks). So, as you can see it’s a bit of a game of making sure everybody has enough links.
